Popularized across the US through Western television shows and movies, the bolo tie gained global recognition in the 1950s, becoming an iconic fashion statement for the Teddy Boys, whose rebellious, rock and roll attitude swept England. The bolo tie is the official state neckwear of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
