Oak Trees
Oaks once covered much of Britain, and figure prominently in Celtic myths, legends and folklore. The ancient Celtic cultures were very close to nature, and many of their ceremonies took place in oak groves. Known as the king of trees, the oak symbolized strength, longevity, courage and fertility. To catch a falling oak leaf was believed to bring luck and prosperity.
